Magali Boyer

Early on during her studies with Etienne Péclard at the Bordeaux Conservatoire, Magali Boyer joins the Jeune Orchestre Atlantique headed by Philippe Herreweghe. She studies period cello with Ageet Zweistra and earns her Diplôme de Formation Supérieure in the crafts of Classical and Romantic orchestra. A disciple of David Simpson in the Baroque cello class of the Paris CRR, she obtains her DEMS in early music before pursuing her studies with Alain Gervreau at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, earning her Master in de Muziek and the Ingeborg Köberle Award. Magali Boyer won the second prize at the Amsterdam Van Wassenaer Competition in 2009. She participates in Master classes with Anner Bylsma and Rainer Zipperling. She has a Licence degree in musicology from the Sorbonne. Invited by Les Arts Florissants under the baton of William Christie, Magali Boyer has recorded with the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées and Philippe Herreweghe, and played under the direction of Ton Koopman, Sigiswald Kuijken, Christophe Coin and Christophe Rousset, as well as Emmanuel Krivine, Jesús Lopez-Cobos and Jean-Claude Casadesus. House musician at the Musée de la Musique / Cité de la Musique in Paris, she works with Belgian ensemble Les Muffatti, conducted by Peter Van Heyghen, and has shared the chamber music stage with fortepianist Ronald Brautigam.
